Bath student wins billboard contest


LIMA — April is distracted driving awareness month. The Lima-Allen County Safe Community Coalition and State Farm Insurance sponsored an art contest among the area high schools to educate drivers about the dangers of distracted driving.

Bath senior, Gabe Niebel won a check from State Farm Insurance in the amount of $500. The Bath Interact Club received a check in the amount of $500 as well.

Niebel’s artwork will be on display in two locations, Bellefontaine Avenue at the intersection with Shawnee Street and the west approach to the Jameson Overpass.

State Farm agent, Ben Anderson, also had two other students’ art turned into billboards, Caylee Rieman, of Bath and the SADD group at Allen East High School.
