LIMA — The United Way of Great Lima held its annual meeting and volunteer recognition March 22, announcing board officers for the year and volunteers and companies for their support.
Bob Meridith is the board chairman for 2018, Erin Hardesty is chair-elect, Jim Bronder is treasurer, Gary Minnick is vice chair of community investment and Ann Miles is vice chair of resource development.
United Way celebrates its 100th anniversary this year and several activities are planned to celebrate that milestone. Jeff Fitzgerald, Miles and Brenda Burgy were introduced as the 2018 campaign chairs.
The organization also honored volunteers and organizations for their support. Volunteers were recognized the categories of Give, Advocate and Volunteer.
The Live United corporate award was presented to Proctor & Gamble and the Live United individual award went to Larry Webb for his service on the United Way board.
Miles was honored with the Paul Woehike Volunteer of the Year award.
“Ann has a servant heart and passion for helping others, especially our young people,” said United Way President Carol Braden-Clarke. “Her love and dedication for this community is an inspiration to all of us and a great example of what it means to live united.”
