LIMA — Dr. Pamela Gardner, cardiologist with Lima Memorial Heart Institute, was recently awarded the Sigma Sigma Phi Osteopathic Mentor of the Year from the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine at Ohio University.

Dr. Gardner, who serves as director of Lima Memorial’s congestive heart failure clinic and the chief of Lima Memorial’s structural hearth program, was nominated by second-year medical student Albert Bui, Pharm.D, who attends Ohio University, Athens. The award is given to an Ohio osteopathic physician who exemplifies a significant influence on a Heritage College student’s decision to pursue osteopathic medicine.
