SPENCERVILLE — Pete Miller, of Spencerville, brought his 1959 Chevy Corvette to the Lima Auto Mall Charity Car Show. He has owned the car for more than 55 years.
Miller purchased the car from Chester Cary, who at the time, was one of the biggest hot rodders of the Midwest. The car had seen trips to the drag strip in its early days in Kettlersville and Sidney. Miller drove the car until 1966, when he joined the military. When he returned home from the military, he tried selling the car. Luckily for him, he had no takers.
Chrome was the popular choice of the 1950s, and the Chevy Corvette did not disappoint with the four chrome headlights and beautiful chrome bumpers.
Miller enjoys driving the car and taking it to car shows.
