LIMA — Three Lima men are in custody following their arrests early Sunday morning of various gun charges.
According to a statement from the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, patrol deputies heard shots fired in a residential area of Lima at approximately 2:50 a.m. Sunday. Responding officers observed a 2004 maroon Chevy Impala leaving the area at a high rate of speed. After officers initiated a traffic stop a firearm was found in the vehicle and all three occupants of the car were taken into custody.
Darius Relford, 22, was charged with suspicion of improper discharge of a firearm into a habitation and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. Tre Ackles, 22, and Blake Patterson, 21, were each been charged with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
All three were booked into the Allen County jail.
The investigation into the incident will be conducted jointly by the sheriff’s office and the Lima Police Department regarding the firearm discharge complaint.
