Lima man arrested after multi-county chase

COLUMBUS GROVE — Multiple police agencies were involved in apprehending a Lima man Monday after an attempted traffic stop.

According to a release from the Columbus Grove Police Department, at 1:24 p.m., Chief Sean Hiler attempted to stop a red Chevrolet pickup truck on West Sycamore Street. Instead of stopping, the vehicle accelerated out of the village in a westbound direction, traveling to state Route 115 with both Columbus Grove and Kalida Police in pursuit. The truck then diverted south to U.S. Route 30, where it then continued west.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Allen County Sheriff’s Office took over the pursuit on U.S. Route 30, with the truck leading police through Delphos before exiting eastbound on Lincoln Highway. The truck was then stopped on Lincoln Highway near Leatherwood Road.

Timothy Boedicker, 38, of Lima was arrested on charges of failure to comply, reckless operation and driving under suspension. He is currently being held at the Putnam County Jail.

No injuries were sustained during the incident.
