CELINA — For the second time in less than two years, Mercer County sheriff’s deputies have been forced to travel across the country to retrieve a man who fled from local authorities.

Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey reported deputies fetched Allan M. Fill from the Clark County Jail in Nevada Wednesday morning and returned him to the Mercer County Jail Wednesday night.

There was a warrant for Fill for his failure to comply with the conditions of a furlough.

Fill was given furlough from a local drug addiction center to attend a funeral out of state, but he did not return as scheduled. The first time he fled, he was located in Arizona.

The original indictment was for grand theft of a motor vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and theft from a person in a protected class.
