LIMA — Allen County Commissioners unanimously voted to put the $6 million Juvenile Detention Center construction project out to bid during their Tuesday meeting. Bid opening will begin Feb. 27.
The finalized design for the project features a 24-bed, 20,303-square foot facility to be built on North Cole Street near the Allen County Sanitary Engineer’s Office.
Construction for the facility could begin as early as late March and would require eight to 14 months for its completion. The final timeline is dependent on the construction company that wins the bid, Allen County Juvenile Court Director Berlin Carroll said.
