City of Lima asks for sidewalks to be cleared of snow

LIMA — Lima Community Development Director Susan Crotty would like to remind property owners that they are responsible for clearing snow and ice from sidewalks located in front of their properties.

Municipal ordinance requires that property owners clear their sidewalks four hours after snowfall during daylight hours.

While many people are capable of maneuvering safely over snow and ice, those with less physical functionality, especially those with wheelchairs and other mobility devices, may have a harder time, Crotty said. The city has begun to send out warnings as a result.
