Routine call results in gun-related arrest near Waynesfield

WAPAKONETA — Auglaize County Sheriff Solomon released details Friday morning of an incident that took place Thursday at 26185 Middle Pike Road near Waynesfield.

Deputies responded for a welfare check and upon arrival located Blaine Lee, 40, of Waynesfield. When deputies checked on Lee, they found drug paraphernalia and a handgun in the residence.

Lee, a convicted felon who is currently being supervised by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority, was taken into custody and remains in the Auglaize County jail.

“The weapon was not directly involved, but due to Lee being a convicted felon he was not allowed to possess or own a firearm,” the sheriff said. “Deputies are cautious on any call they go on, and this proves they never know what they will find.”

The matter remains under investigation.
