BLUFFTON — Blanchard Valley Hospital and Bluffton Hospital have imposed visitor limitations based on the recent increase in flu and respiratory illness cases in northwest Ohio, according to officials.
The limitation asks that all children age 14 and younger refrain from visiting the hospital for the time being. The purpose of this limited visitation is to continue providing safe care to all patients by minimizing the risk of exposing patients to the influenza virus and respiratory illness. The visitor limitation will be lifted when the number of influenza and respiratory illness cases decrease in the area, a spokesperson with Blanchard Valley Health System reported.
Mercy Health-St. Rita’s and Grand Lake Health System have instituted similar temporary restrictions on visitation.
