ADA — Charges have been filed against a Lima man who police believe was the perpetrator in the armed robbery last week of an Ada carryout.

Clark E. Sturgeon, 42, was arrested Monday in connection with the robbery of the 302 Carryout in Ada. Police had previously reported that at 11:30 p.m. Jan. 3, a white male wearing a dark blue hoodie and dark colored sweat pants robbed the carryout of an undisclosed amount of money. The subject was described as approximately 5-foot-10, heavy build and brown facial hair. He reportedly did not brandish a weapon during the robbery.

On Monday an arrest warrant was obtained for Sturgeon, who was housed at the Miami County jail in Troy on unrelated charges.

Ada Police Chief Michael Harnishfeger thanked the public for their assistance in resolving the crime.

“Ada is a SAFER (Seeking Aid From Every Resident) Community because of the excellent relationship between the police and the public,” Harnishfeger said in a prepared statement.
