OTTAWA – Investigators looking into the death of a resident of a Pandora nursing home are continuing their probe but have thus far declined to identify the woman.
Putnam County Sheriff Brian Siefker said Monday afternoon that Pandora Police Chief Scott Stand and detectives from the sheriff’s office “are working jointly together” in an attempt to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident in which an elderly resident of the Hilty Memorial Home was found dead outside that facility.
According to a news release, at shortly after 8:30 a.m. Sunday authorities received a call from Hilty Memorial Home that an elderly female had been discovered deceased outside the nursing home.
Siefker said investigators were interviewing employees of the nursing home on Monday and will continue their investigation today. The sheriff said he expected the name of the deceased woman to be released Tuesday.
The woman was pronounced dead by Putnam County Coroner Dr. Anne Horstman, who could not be reached for further comment on Monday.
Assisting the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau with the investigation is the Pandora Police Department.
