LIMA — The board of Allen County Commissioners on Thursday morning tabled until Monday the adoption of the annual General Fund and non-General Fund appropriations for calendar year 2018. The commissioners had intended to adopt the annual spending blueprints but have yet to receive final certification of the appropriation figures from the county budget commission.
In other mostly routine business on Thursday, the commissioners approved the use of county credit cards, established a purchase order issuance policy and approved a master agreement between the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Marimor Industries Inc.
The board members also held a brief telephone conference with their counterparts in Auglaize County regarding a ditch project. After that call, a final hearing was set for the Arthur Petition Ditch project. The final hearing for work, with an estimated cost of just more than $33,000, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 1 at the Spencerville Public Library.
The commissioners also met behind closed doors for 30 minutes with two representatives from the county sanitary engineer’s office. Commissioner Cory Noonan requested the executive session to discuss “the potential suspension of an employee.” Upon exiting the closed-door meeting, Noonan said more information was needed and made a motion to table the matter for the time being.
