LIMA — A Lima man walking on the bike path near the 1800 block of North Cole Street shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday was shot in the leg by what appear to be stray gunshots.
Tavares Clay, 34, of Lima, told police he heard “five or six” gunshots and sought shelter at Wally’s, a business on North Cole Street. At that time, Clay told investigating officers he felt a pain in his left calf and realized he had been shot. Police said he was taken to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s for treatment and was released.
There are no suspects in the incident at this time.
