LIMA — A Lima man who police officers said attacked another man with a knife earlier this year was indicted by an Allen County grand jury.
Anthony Bagley, 34, of Lima, is charged with two counts of felonious assault, second-degree felonies, and two counts of aggravated assault, felonies of the fourth degree. The charges stem from from a knife attack that took place at a Lima business.
According to Allen County Sheriff’s Office Detective Ryan Ream, deputies were called Oct. 14 to Nelson’s Packaging on Reservoir Road in reference to a knife fight. Ream said that upon his arrival, medics from the Bath Township EMS were treating Ryan Selby for multiple slash wounds to the face and neck.
Bagley told police officers he was involved in a verbal altercation with Selby that turned physical. Bagley said he acted in self-defense but a witness told investigators she saw the two men fighting and that Bagley produced a knife. The dispute reportedly revolved around the ongoing verbal harassment of Selby’s girlfriend by Bagley.
Bagley is scheduled to appear in Allen County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday for an initial pretrial hearing.
