2018 Lima public works projects outlined

LIMA — The City of Lima Public Works Department has prepared its 2018 project list, which includes approximately 20 projects totaling $20 million.

Highlights of the project list include the East Elm Street grade separation, with a construction cost of $12 million and a total project cost of $20 million when including the right-of-way acquisition, engineering and design costs already expended and the $2 million renovation and expansion of the Hall of Justice, which includes the Lima Police Department and Lima Municipal Court.

The second phase of the city’s playground renovation is also slated for 2018 at a cost of $400,000. The $1.5 million Schoonover Lake restoration project is also schedued for next year, which includes island restoration, demolition of the Naval Reserve building and the construction of a BMX biking pump track and an Americans with Disabilites Act-compliant fishing pier.
