WOCAP to start teen leadership program

LIMA — Teenagers in the Midway East neighborhood will have the opportunity to learn valuable life and leadership skills through a program recently developed by the West Ohio Community Action Partnership.

The Teens Who Lead Lima program will feature meetings once a week to help teenagers learn such skills as growing a garden and selling produce, opening their own savings accounts and developing neighborhood projects while also attending field trips and learning about youth employment opportunities.

Girls participating in the program will meet from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. every Wednesday during the school year at New Life Assembly Church, 1003 E. Kibby St. Boys will meet from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. every Thursday at the church, and a meal will be served during each meeting.
