No arrests made at Van Wert police checkpoint


VAN WERT —No arrests were made during a drunken-driving checkpoint Friday night in Van Wert.

A total of 330 vehicles passed through the checkpoint operated by the Van Wert post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol at state Route 118 near Fox Road.

Saturation patrols consisting of state troopers and local police officers made a total of 86 traffic stops. Of those, four drivers were arrested for drunken driving, two were cited for driving under suspension, three people were charged with misdemeanor drug violations and four were issued misdemeanor summons.
