LIMA — Five Allen County residents were awarded for outstanding community contributions Tuesday night during the annual Fraternal Order of Police Citizen Award Dinner at Lima Lodge 21.
Todd A. Barnhill and Patrick Heffley were recognized for their efforts in locating a suspect in multiple gasoline thefts throughout Allen County.
D. Matthew Nuckles was recognized for deciding to stop and assist a man suffering from an opioid overdose.
Leroy Zimmerman received an award for his efforts in helping an 8-year-old girl who was being attacked by a pit bull.
Brenda Morris was recognized for her exceptional observation skills, which led to the arrest of a bank robbery suspect.
The Lima Fraternal Order of Police Associates Lodge 8 recognized Bob Corson as its member of the year for his volunteer work for the lodge.
