WAYNESFIELD — There will be a special blood drive in honor of Madison Buffenbarger from 12 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31 at Waynesfield-Goshen High School, 500 N. Westminster St., Waynesfield.
Buffenbarger, a senior at the school, was accidentally struck by a moving vehicle in July, causing serious injuries, including a broken jaw, elbow and leg. She needed blood during her treatment.
“We hope that anyone willing to help will come to give blood,” said Kim Buffenbarger, Madison’s mother. “We are extreamly grateful that Madison is on the mend and very appreciative of all the medical team members and blood donors who helped her through her treatment.”
“Madison’s situation is the perfect reminder that accidents can happen at any time,” said Jeri Garringer, recruitment account manager for the Red Cross. “Hosting this blood drive in her name is a wonderful way to help others who may encounter an unexpected accident.”
