McComb man faces drug charges after raid at home


McCOMB — A McComb man faces charges of possession of crack cocaine following his arrest Thursday night at his residence.

Larry A. Deal Jr., 50, of 1159 state Route 235, McComb, was arrested at approximately 11 p.m. after a Hancock County drug task force executed a search warrant at the residence that yielded crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and items indicative of drug trafficking.

According to authorities, the search warrant was executed by the Hancock County METRICH Drug Task Force, with the assistance of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team and the Wood County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team.

The possession of crack cocaine charge is a fourth-degree felony. Additional charges and arrests are expected pending laboratory results, authorities said.

The Hancock METRICH Drug Enforcement Unit is funded in part by the Office of Criminal Justice Services.
