Wednesday crash in Lima sent 1 to hospital


LIMA — A Wednesday crash in American Township sent an elderly woman to hospital.

According to a crash report from the American Township Police Department, at 2:47 p.m. Wednesday, Tera Plaugher, 35, of Lima, was driving a 2004 Dodge Durango westbound on state Route 309 when Barbara Meyer, 85, of Lima, who was driving eastbound on the same road, attempted to turn her 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser left onto Rosedale Avenue, failing to yield to Plaugher. Meyer hit Plaugher’s vehicle, pushing it into a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero belonging to Lynda Kay Mayer, of Lima. That vehicle was parked at the Neighborhood Relief Thrift Store, 1500 Elida Road.

Meyer was transported to St. Rita’s Medical Center with possible injuries. Plaugher, along with Kyndal Plaugher, 5, and Kyndric Plaugher, 2, who were also in the vehicle, were all treated at the scene by American Township EMS.
