LIMA — Local police are working with the Greenville, Kentucky, police department to locate Laura Griffin, 24, and her 9-month-old daughter, Aleigha Griffin. Both were last seen June 30.
According to the Greenville Kentucky Police Department Facebook page, Laura Griffin is 5 feet 4 inches tall with blue eyes and slightly longer than shoulder-length blonde hair. She weighs about 250 pounds. She has a tattoo on each leg and her right wrist. Her infant daughter has blonde hair and blue eyes like her mother.
They were last seen in a dark blue 2008 Chevrolet HHR with Kentucky plate number 900VHC with multiple stickers on it.
Greenville police believe she was traveling with her boyfriend, William Wiley, Greenville Patrol Officer Kerry Vincent said. Wiley has a sister, Samantha Wiley, in Lima and family reports it isn’t unusual for Griffin to go on trips without telling anyone, Vincent said. But her social media habits have changed.
“She’s supposed to be heavy on social media,” Vincent said. “There has not been contact with her in awhile.”
The Lima Police Department was looking for Griffin Wednesday after receiving word her cellphone was pinging around town, said Patrolman Adrian Ramirez. They hadn’t received a vehicle description at that point, so they couldn’t do much.
“I got a call earlier (Thursday), giving us a description of the vehicle,” Ramirez said.
Every patrol officer on duty is looking for Griffin’s vehicle now.
“She isn’t in trouble and has not committed a crime,” Vincent said. “We just want to hear from her and know that she’s okay.”
Friends and family of Wiley have told the Greenville Police Department that they have reached him, but there is still no word from Griffin, Vincent said.
