LIMA — Construction has begun on an apartment complex that will provide new housing options for hundreds of Lima residents.
Shawnee Lakes, located across the street from Buffalo Wild Wings in the 2900 block of Allentown Road, is described by developers as “luxury housing.” When completed, the complex will feature some 244 ranch-style apartments with a market-based rent.
Construction will be broken up into two phases, with 148 units built during the first phase and 96 units constructed in the second phase. The complex will have five different types of floor plans, ranging from one to three bedrooms and one to two bathrooms. The rent for each apartment will vary depending on the floor plan, from $740 per month on the low end to $1,325 a month on the high end.
Amenities will include a one- or two-car garage, private entrances, birch cabinets, a self-cleaning oven and other appliances such as microwaves, refrigerators, dishwashers, dryers, washing machines and a walk-in closet. More expensive units will include these same amenities plus granite countertops, wood flooring and stainless steel appliances. The complex will also house a fitness center, community center and heated pool, which can be used by all residents regardless of their monthly payments.
Construction on phase one of the project is underway, and developers expect the first unit to be available for rent this fall. To be placed on the waiting list for Shawnee Lakes, call 567-250-9539.
The apartment complex is being constructed by Mid-Ohio Development of Groveport.
