Bluffton’s Schumacher Homestead open on Saturdays for tours


Schumacher Homestead, 1-5 p.m., Schumacher Homestead, 8350 Bixel Road, Bluffton. Cost: $5 per person. Children under 16 admitted for free, as well as members of the Historical Society.

BLUFFTON — The Bluffton/Pandora Swiss Community Historical Society will open the Schumacher Homestead from 1 to 5 p.m., every Saturday through the months of June, July and August for self-guided or docent-led tours.

The Schumacher Homestead is located at 8350 Bixel Road, Bluffton. Cost is $5 per person. Children under 16 are admitted for free, as well as historical members are free.

Visitors will be able to tour the house, garden summer kitchen and workshop. In addition, the barn will be open on the last Saturday of each of the three months. Picnic tables or porches will be available to enjoy a snack or a picnic lunch.
