Northwest Ohio Literacy Council hosts tutor training

LIMA — The Northwest Ohio Literacy Council will hold a two-hour tutor training course from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the NOLC.

The NOLC is in need of volunteers. During the training, tutors will learn about the local need for literacy tutoring. The mission of NOLC to teach adults to read and techniques and content for working with adult learners. Three additional online training courses on the principles of adult learning are required before tutors are matched with a student.

Volunteer tutor candidates are encouraged to contact the NOLC at 419-223-0252, visit the website limaliteracy.net or stop by the office at 563 W. Spring St., Lima, to register for the training or ask questions about becoming an adult literacy tutor.
