KENTON — The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office reported that there was a water main break in Kenton at about 12:48 p.m. Saturday.
As a result, there is a citywide shut down of water in the city of Kenton municipal water area.
Water is slowly being restored to the city. The Kenton-Hardin Health Department is requiring all restaurants and residents in Kenton municipal water district to adhere to boil advisory protocols, advising all to use bottled/gallon water for sanitation and cooking purposes until further notice.
At this time, ice machines, fountain pop machines and cooking with and consuming drinks such as coffee, tea, etc., with municipal water are prohibited.
Boiling municipal water for hand washing utensils, bathing and restrooms is permitted.
