SAFY celebrates one-year anniversary of Youth Drop-In Center

LIMA — Specialized Alternatives for Family and Youth, or SAFY, will celebrate the one-year anniversary of its Youth Drop-In Center with an open house at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lima Behavioral Health facility, located at 658 W. Market St.

The Drop-In Center supports at-risk youth by providing individual advocacy and connecting youth and families to community resources, crisis intervention services, individual and group counseling/therapy, and securing safe shelter.

In the last year, the Drop-In Center has served 163 youth — nearly all of whom were victims of crime — or about 10 children per day, according to SAFY’s Lima Behavioral Health Director Judy Lester.
