SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — The public is welcome to express its grief about the death of Shawnee Township Fire Prevention Officer and Investigator Matt Myers by marking his procession route.
Myers, 48, died Tuesday after fighting Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome.
The procession for today’s funeral will be northbound on Shawnee Road to Breese road; eastbound to McClain; northbound to Hanthorn; and eastbound to state Route 117 to the cemetery. The funeral procession will go under to ladder trucks from the Lima Fire Department and Apollo Career Center during the turn from Shawnee to Breese.
The public is also welcome at the funeral at noon Monday at Shawnee Alliance Church Activity Center, 4450 Shawnee Road, and the visitation from 11 a.m. to noon Monday at Shawnee Alliance Church, 4455 Shawnee Road, Lima.
Graveside services at Salem Westminster Ceremony are intended for the family and Shawnee firefighters only.
