VAN WERT — Police officers arrested a 26-year-old man after the armed robbery of a Van Wert Pak A Sak store Saturday.
John J. Gosnell was in custody after Paulding Police Department officers arrested him in connection with a robbery in that city. He is also a suspect in a Defiance robbery, Van Wert Police Department officials reported.
In the Van Wert robbery, a man entered the store at 800 N. Washington St. at 12:27 a.m. Saturday wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a dark-colored coat over top, blue jeans and what appeared to be dark work boots. He displayed a small, silver handgun and demanded money, Van Wert Police Department officials reported.
The man was described as in his 20s, 6 foot 3 to 6 foot 5 with a thin build and short, brown hair. He ran out of the business in a south direction, police officials reported.
