LIMA — In an effort to maintain a strong social media presence, the Lima Police Department has created an account on San Francisco-based social media website Nextdoor.
Nextdoor is a private social media platform, using “the power of technology to build stronger and safer neighborhoods,” according to nextdoor.com. Nextdoor can be used to connect neighbors, allowing them to learn more about each other, organize a neighborhood watch or track down a good babysitter, according to the website. The Lima Police Department noted on its Twitter feed that it will use Nextdoor to send out updates and alerts.
