Trial pushed back for ex-teacher’s sex case

LIMA — The trial date for a former Lima elementary school teacher charged with sex crimes was pushed back to Dec. 7.

Brian Anders, 36, had a pretrial at Allen County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday. Anders is charged with four counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, each a third-degree felony.

The charges allege Anders had sexual relations with a 15-year-old boy between September 2012 and December 2012. The victim was not a student at the school where Anders taught.

Anders used the Internet to meet boys, police said. Anders also had some issues when he was in jail. He was accused of sexually assaulting another inmate but the matter was investigated and there was no evidence to support the sex was anything but consensual.
