Trial date set in heroin overdose case

LIMA — A woman facing a manslaughter charge in the heroin overdose death of a woman was assigned an Oct. 19 trial.

Misty M. Johnson, 38, of 637 1/2 N. Main St., also had a final pretrial scheduled for Sept. 18. She is charged with involuntary manslaughter and corrupting of another with drugs. She faces up to 19 years in prison.

The charges are in connection with the June 8 death of Jessi L. Boggs. Boggs died inside Johnson’s home. Johnson and Travis Kantner, 38, of 540 N. Elizabeth St., were accused of either furnishing Boggs with heroin or administering the drug to her.

Kantner faces identical charges. The three were friends.
