Grubb Road bridge one step closer to repair

LIMA — Allen County commissioners approved an easement and work agreement Tuesday for the construction of a new culvert for the Grubb Road bridge in Amanda Township. The culvert was washed out in June after heavy rains.

Commissioners also approved estimates of material and labor for the project, which totals just more than $55,000. The county will benefit from emergency funds from the Ohio Public Works Commission covering 55 percent of the cost, which should cover the materials for the project, leaving the county to cover labor costs.

Commissioners hope the culvert should be installed and the road reopened before the end of autumn.
