Local mental health board to offer course on drug-free work policies

LIMA — The Mental Health & Recovery Services Board of Allen, Auglaize and Hardin Counties will hold its next We Care at Work Cohort starting Sept. 14.

Mike Schoenhofer, executive director of the Mental Health & Recovery Services Board, said the three-course cohort will help local business owners create or improve their drug-free workplace policy.

The program will also inform local business owners about We Care at Work’s initiative to give potential workers a second chance at employment after a failed drug screen. Schoenhofer said it is not a pro-drug initiative, rather, it provides treatment for people with substance abuse problems.

The cohort will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 14, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 28 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 5. Business owners can register at wecarepeople.org.
