ARMY

ROTC Cadet Brent A. Burnfield, a 2004 graduate of Wapakoneta High School, graduated with a Baccalaureate Degree in Specialized Studies in Business Administration. After commissioning to 2nd Lieutenant, Burnfield will continue on active duty as an infantry officer.

The University of Northwestern Ohio Army ROTC program hosted its fourth Army ROTC commissioning ceremony June 11 at the UNOH Event Center.

AIR FORCE

Airman Tayler R. Roberts, son of Janel K. Lawhun, of Crestline, and Chad R. Roberts, of Chapin, South Carolina, .graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. He is a 2016 graduate of Shawnee High School.

NAVY

Airman Joshua Miller, a 2014 Sidney High School graduate and Sidney native, is serving with a U.S. Navy helicopter squadron that flies the Navy’s newest and most technologically-advanced helicopter. He is an aviation electronics technician with the “Vipers” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 48, a Mayport, Florida-based squadron that operates the Navy’s next generation submarine hunter and anti-surface warfare helicopter, the MH-60R Seahawk.
