Ohio Department of Transportation Districts 1 and 7



Allen County

Interstate 75 from the Auglaize County line to Fourth Street, through Lima and Allen County, will have occasional lane closures throughout the year during the final year of the reconstruction of the interstate. Current and upcoming impacts to traffic are as follows:

•Traffic on I-75 north and south of the state Route 65 interchange area continues to travel in a contraflow pattern where two southbound lanes and one northbound lane of traffic are traveling on the southbound side of the interstate, and one northbound lane is traveling on the northbound side of the interstate. Traffic will remain in this pattern until late summer.

•Traffic on I-75 northbound will continue to be reduced to one lane through the contraflow zone Monday through Thursday of the week, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., for drainage work.

•The exit ramp from northbound Interstate 75 to state Route 65 will be closed during these same hours Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Traffic will be detoured north on Interstate 75 to Fourth Street to Interstate 75 southbound to state Route 65.

•Heavy truck traffic will be present throughout the project for the next several weeks, especially in the area of the state Route 65 interchange and the Yoder Road area, near the Orthopedic Institute of Ohio complex.

•Hanthorn Road over I-75 remains closed but is expected to reopen by the middle of the week.

•Paving of the final layer of asphalt throughout the project is expected to take place in late July and early August.

Additional Allen County projects:

State Route 309 will be impacted by several projects throughout the construction season as follows:

•Route 309 (Elida Road) from Robb Avenue to Cole Street, Lima, is restricted for reconstruction of the curb and gutter, upgrade of traffic signals and resurfacing of the roadway. The continuous turn from eastbound Route 309 to Grand Avenue was permanently closed on March 14. Work is being performed by Smith Paving, Norwalk. Drainage, curb replacement, resurfacing and pavement marking work is now complete.

•Reconstruction of two traffic signals at Rosedale Avenue and Cole Street is ongoing and may result in short-term lane restrictions.

•Route 309 (Elida Road) from Eastown Road to U.S. Route 30, including the village of Elida, is restricted for widening, curb and gutter installation, drainage improvements and resurfacing. The project will continue through the fall. Work is being performed by VTF Excavation, Celina.

The following impacts are occurring or upcoming. Traffic patterns will change frequently:

•Route 309 eastbound from Pioneer Road to East Road is maintained with two lanes westbound and one eastbound. The turn lane is maintained as well. Traffic will continue to be reduced to one lane in each direction at various locations through this area for drainage installation. The restrictions will be in place from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day for about two weeks. Traffic delays should be expected. Traffic patterns will change frequently through this section.

•Route 309 (Harding Highway) from Bowman Road, Lima, to state Route 235, Ada, closed June 6 for some 70 days for culvert replacements at several locations. Access to area residences will be maintained. Through traffic will be detoured onto state Route 235, state Route 81 and I-75 back to Route 309. Work is being performed by R.D. Jones Excavating, Harrod. The entire length of roadway is closed to through traffic. Those not residing within or traveling to a business within the project area will be subject to fines by law enforcement.

State Route 65, state Route 81, state Route 117 and Route 309 pavement repair and resurfacing project will have the following impacts to traffic in the coming weeks. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Lima:

•Route 65/81 (North Street) between Jameson Avenue and Jackson Street, state Route 117 (Spencerville Road/Woodlawn Avenue) between Seriff Road and Elm Street, state Route 117 between state Route 309 (Harding Highway) and just east of Greely Chapel Road, and state Route 309 (Jameson Avenue) between Cole Street and North Street will be resurfaced with asphalt pavement in the coming weeks. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Lima.

•Route 65 from Yoder Road to East Fourth Street will be closed beginning Monday for about three days for culvert replacements. Traffic will be detoured onto I-75 to East Fourth Street back to Route 65. Work is being performed by the Ohio Department of Transportation Allen County maintenance garage.

State Route 117 and state Route 501 (Wapak Road) intersection realignment and widening project will begin Monday. The project will also construct left-lane turns on state Route 117. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton. The following impacts to traffic are upcoming:

•Wapak Road at state Route 117 will be closed beginning this week for about 30 days.

Auglaize County

•District Wide — Installing pavement markers on Auglaize U.S. 33, state Route 66, state Route 67, state Route 197, state Route 219, state Route 364, state Route 703. Various lane closures through July 15 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. One lane will remain open in each direction.

•State Route 65 between Southland Road and Sellers Road, Daily lane closures through July 30 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. One lane will remain open for travel in both directions through the use of flaggers.

•State Route 66 between St. Marys-Kossuth Road and county Road 66A, Lane closures through Friday. Traffic will be maintained in each direction through the use of a shoulder closure.

•District Wide — Shoulder closures on I-75 in Mercer, Shelby and Auglaize counties, Auglaize U.S. 33, Mercer state Route 29, and Darke U.S. Route 127. Various. shoulder closures through July 15 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Lanes will remain open, but the shoulders will be closed.

•I-75 between state Route 274 and National Road, Daily lane closures through July 29 between the hours of 3 a.m. and 3 p.m. One lane will remain open in each direction.

•U.S. Route 33 east between U.S. 33A and Blackhoof Street, 24-hour lane closure Monday through July 18. One eastbound lane will remain open. *The U.S. 33A ramp will also be closed during this time. The official detour is: U.S. 33 west to Moulton-Fort Amanda Road to U.S. 33 east

•U.S. 33A eastbound ramp to U.S. 33, 24-hour ramp closure Monday through July 18. The official detour is: U.S. 33 west to Moulton-Fort Amanda Road to U.S. 33 east

Hancock County

Interstate 75 between Perrysburg and county Road 99 north of Findlay will have the following restrictions through the fall during reconstruction and widening:

•Through November, overnight lane restrictions, generally from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., are possible on I-75 between the I-75/I-475 interchange in Perrysburg and county Road 99 in Hancock County. Through December, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-75 between U.S. Route 20 in Perrysburg and county Road 99 in Hancock County.

•On Monday from about 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. traffic on I-75 northbound and southbound between U.S. 224 and state Route 613 will be reduced to one lane while traffic is switched into a new pattern. Traffic will be moved into the inside lane to allow the outside lanes to be constructed.

•Through December, township Road 101 in Hancock County, between county Road 220 and township Road 142, is closed for bridge work over I-75.

Hardin County

State Route 309 will be impacted throughout the construction season as follows:

•Route 309 from county Road 171 just east of Kenton to the Marion County line is restricted through the work zone for resurfacing which began May 17. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

•Route 309 (Harding Highway) from Bowman Road, Lima, to state Route 235, Ada, closed June 6 for about 70 days for culvert replacements at several locations. Access to area residences will be maintained. Through traffic will be detoured onto state Route 235, state Route 81 and Interstate 75 back to state Route 309. Work is being performed by R.D. Jones Excavating, Harrod. The entire length of roadway is closed to through traffic. •U.S. Route 68 between Walnut Street and Perry Street in Kenton closed June 6 for a railroad repair project. Traffic is detoured onto Carrol Street, state Route 31, state Route 53 back to U.S. 68. Work is being performed by CSX Transportation.

•State Route 273 between state Route 292 and township Road 179, Mount Victory, closed June 6 for about three weeks for a railroad repair project. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 292, state Route 31, and back to state Route 273. Work is being performed by CSX Railroad.

Logan County

•U.S. 33 between county Road 57 and state Route 540, 24-hour lane closures through Sept. 30. One lane will remain open in each direction.

•Districtwide — Chip and Seal project on Logan state Rotue 287, Champaign state Route 29, Champaign state Route 245, Champaign state Route 559 and Clark state Route 41. Various lane closures through Sept. 30 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

Mercer County

•Districtwide — Installing Pavement markers on Mercer U.S. 33, state Route 117, state Route 707, state Route 197, state Route 127, state Route 703, state Route 716, state Route 49, state Route 219, Various lane closures through July 15 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. One lane will remain open in each direction.

•Districtwide — Resurfacing project on Mercer state Route 119, Mercer state Route 274, Shelby state Route 29 and Shelby state Route 119. Various lane closures through July 29 between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

•State Route 703 between state Route 29 and state Route 364, Daily lane closures through July 29 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

•State Route 29 between Hellwarth Road and Burkettsville-St. Henry Road, 24-hour birdge closure through Friday. The official detour is: State Route 118 to state Route 219 to state Route 49.

•Districtwide — Shoulder closures on I-75 in Mercer, Shelby and Auglaize counties, Auglaize U.S. 33, Mercer state Route 29, and Darke U.S. 127. Various shoulder closures through July 15 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Lanes will remain open, but the shoulders will be closed.

•State Route 29 between Enterprise Street and U.S. 33, Daily lane closures through July 30 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. These closures will be in Mercer and Auglaize counties. One lane will remain open at all times.

•State Route 707 between State Line Road and state Route 49, 24-hour road closure Monday through Friday. The official detour is: State Route 49 to state Route 29/Indiana 67 to U.S. 27 to Indiana 218/state Route 707.

•State Route 29 between State Line Road and state Route 49, 24-hour road closure July 11 through 15. The official detour is: State Route 49 to state Route 707/Indiana 218 to U.S. 27 to Indiana 67/state Route 29.

Putnam County

•State Route 66 between county Road N and county Road P will be closed Monday for about five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 224, state Route 637, state Route 114 and back to state Route 66. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.

Shelby County

•Districtwide — Installing pavement markers on Shelby state Route 66, state Route 29, state Route 47, state Route 119, state Route 65, Various lane closures through July 15 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. One lane will remain open in each direction.

•Districtwide — Resurfacing project on Mercer state Route 119, Mercer state Route 274, Shelby state Route 29 and Shelby state Route 119 Various lane closures through July 29 between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

•Districtwide — Shoulder closures on I-75 in Mercer, Shelby and Auglaize counties, Auglaize U.S. 33, Mercer state Route 29, and Darke U.S. 127. Various shoulder closures through July 15 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Lanes will remain open, but the shoulders will be closed.

•I-75 north and south between Vandemark Road and county Road 25A (Sidney), nightly lane closures Through July 4 between the hours of 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. One lane will remain open in each direction.

•State Route 47 between I-75 and Vandemark Road, daily lane closures through July 31 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. One lane will remain open in each direction.

•Michigan Street between Pomeroy Avenue and Oak Avenue, 24-hour through Aug. 5. The official detour is: Michigan Street to Highland Avenue to Oak Avenue

Van Wert County

•U.S. 127 between state Route 116 and county Road 18 will be restricted with traffic maintained for full depth repairs. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.

•U.S. 127 (Washington Street) between Fox Road and Ervin Road in the city of Van Wert closed for reconstruction and widening of the road. Access to local businesses is maintained. Traffic is detoured onto state Route 81, state Route 118, Ervin Road/Van Wert-Decatur Road, U.S. 224 and U.S. 30 back to U.S. 127. The closure will remain in place until fall. Work is being performed by Helms & Sons Excavating, Findlay.

•The U.S. 127 (Washington Street) and Ervin Road intersection will close beginning July 5 for five to six weeks for reconstruction.

•U.S. 224 along the ramp from eastbound U.S. 30 to westbound U.S. 224 will be closed in the late summer for about a month for a slide repair project. Work is being performed by Jutte Excavating, Fort Recovery.
