No injuries reported in tractor-trailer rollover in Ottawa

OTTAWA — No one was injured when a truck driver rolled his tractor-trailer carrying vegetables Sunday morning.

The crash happened at 7:40 a.m. on state Route 65 near Road 7D. Omar Mohamed Osman, 35, of Amarillo, Texas, was driving north on state Route 65 and failed to negotiate a curve at the railroad crossing while driving at an excessive speed, which caused him to overturn the vehicle, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The tractor-trailer came to rest on its side. Osman and his passenger, Hared Hersi Ibrahim, 44, of Amarillo, Texas, were not injured. The tractor-trailer was carrying 65,000 pounds of packaged vegetables that was transferred to another location, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
