Foster parents file separate complaint with Ohio Supreme Court in adoption case

CELINA — A second Ohio Supreme Court case is examining the adoption issue between Allen County Children Services and foster parents Brian and Kelly Anderson.

On Monday, the Andersons filed a complaint against Judge Glenn Derryberry of Allen County Juvenile Court regarding “Original Action Involving Termination of Parental Rights/Adoption.” The Andersons had been in dispute with Children Services since announcing their intentions to adopt their foster child, M.S. Children Services removed the child in March to a relative in Indiana, an action quickly followed by a placement order from Mercer County Probate Court calling for the child to be returned. The child is still residing in Indiana.

Derryberry was ordered to submit a response by noon Wednesday, which was received by the court. As the case involves an adoption, all records in the case have been sealed.
