LIMA — A man who served 13 years in prison for chasing down another man and killing him is in trouble again.

Ross McWay, 37, of 455 N. Kenilworth Ave., was indicted this month on two counts of rape with a repeat violent offender specification and kidnapping with a repeat violent offender specification.

The charges allege crimes against a woman on March 23.

On Dec. 22, 2001, McWay and Maurice Milton chased Jimmy Bunley, 21, in a car firing shots at him as he drove down the road. Bunley’s car was forced off the road in the 1100 block of St. Johns Avenue, a prosecutor said.

Bunley left his car and tried to run away but was hit by a bullet. McWay and Milton then fired numerous additional shots at Bunley. He was struck six times and taken to a hospital where he died a month later.

The shooting was part of an ongoing feud between the two men and Bunley.

McWay and Milton each pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter with a gun through a deal with prosecutors and were sentenced to 13 years in prison. Both were released in December 2014.
