Organ donor families to speak at Torch Run for Life

LIMA — Family members of local residents who gave the gift of life will be sharing their story of how organ donation has impacted their families at the “Torch Run for Life.”

Diane Knotts, mother of Eric Knotts, and Becky Miller, sister of Mark Youngpeter, will take part in the opening ceremonies of the Torch Run, which begins at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lima Memorial Health System. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the torch will leave LMHS and travel to St. Rita’s Medical Center.

This local event is being brought to Lima to raise awareness for organ, eye and tissue donation, as well as the 2016 Donate Life Transplant Games of America taking place in Cleveland from June 10 to 15.
