LIMA — The Allen County Engineer’s Office will work with Bluffton Paving for its road resurfacing program this year.
Allen County commissioners approved the contract Tuesday, which is for $1.02 million, to pave 14 miles of county and township roads. Engineers originally estimated the project to cost $1.2 million. Almost $700,000 of that cost will come through Issue 1 funding for county road paving, with the rest paid by the county.
Because of heavy rains, engineers do not expect all the road projects to be completed until September or October. Typically, most projects are done before the beginning of the school year.
