Planning commission releases railway study

LIMA — The Lima-Allen County Regional Planning Commission is seeking public comment on a railroad improvement study examining the Norfolk Southern railway from the city of Lima to Hancock County.

The study included an analysis of all 13 public crossings along the rail line, determining any deficiencies and making recommendations for improvement as well as the preparation of a comprehensive safety improvement proposal at highway-rail grade crossings along the Indiana & Ohio Railway.

The study will be available to the public until July 20 and can be found at the Regional Planning Commission office, 130 W. North St., or online at Click on “What’s New!” to access the study.
