Local ODJFS supervisor gets 5-day suspension

LIMA — A supervisor at the Allen County Department of Job and Family Services was suspended for five days without pay for misconduct.

Caryn Strayer, the program administrator at the agency, was suspended for five days beginning July 13. Allen County Commissioners approved the suspension at a meeting this week.

Strayer’s boss, Steve Barker, requested the suspension on the grounds of misfeasance, neglect of duty and failure of good behavior, according to records.

Exactly what Strayer did was not listed in the records, and Barker was out of the office Thursday.

Strayer had an income of $69,250 last year at the agency, according to records.
