LIMA — A 20-year-old Lima man suffered a gunshot wound to the hand late Wednesday evening.
Carrington Lott was taken to Lima Memorial Health System to be treated for the injury, which was not considered life threatening, police said.
The incident happened about 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Prospect and Michael avenues. Lott told police he heard shots fired and thought the sound came from the basketball courts at Cook Park, said Lt. Andy Green of the Lima Police Department.
Lott took off running and then noticed his hand was hurting. He then noticed bleeding. His family took him to the hospital, Green said.
The incident remains under investigation, and no one has been arrested, Green said.
