LIMA — Police are seeking the public’s help in learning more about the final hours of a Cincinnati man’s life after he left a Lima bar in December.

The body of Carlos Barker was found at 6 a.m. Dec. 29 by a citizen at the corner of Hazel Avenue and Cole Street. The site is about three blocks from the Delite bar on North Cole Street, police said.

An autopsy showed Barker died from a heart attack, but he also had some “odd injuries” on his body. Police want to determine how the injuries happened, said Detective Andy Johnson, of the Lima Police Department.

Barker, 45, left the bar the evening before about 10:45 p.m. to return to a home in the 1000 block of Hazel Avenue.

Police are asking anyone who may have talked to him or seen him to contact police. Detective Johnson can be reached at 419-221-5296. Another way to report information is to Crime Stoppers at 419-229-STOP.

Barker’s death is not classified as a homicide. Police are trying to determine if the death is because of foul play. Barker was from Cincinnati and was in town visiting family during the holidays, police said.
