CRIDERSVILLE — After popular demand, the Midwest Shooting Center will be hosting its first car and motorcycle show this weekend.
“We’ve had many requests from our members and the public to host a car show because we have such a great parking lot and have the space available,” explained marketing director Micheline Ricker. “It’s something we tossed around last summer but didn’t have enough time to pull off successfully. This year it’s just come together perfectly. We partnered with King Karaoke who does car shows all around this area, and they’ve been helping us put everything together.”
The event, which is open to the general public and not just members of the shooting center, will also include live music from DJ Rockin’ Richie and Groovin’ Gregg, local food trucks, raffles and other giveaways which will include two free memberships.
Registration will be $10 per car or motorcycle from noon to 2:30 p.m. Ricker said they are expecting between 80 and 120 vehicles based on the interest received thus far. Proceeds raised from the event will benefit the center’s Santa Fund to provide Christmas for local families.
“Since we opened, one of our pillars is to be involved in the community to show this isn’t your average gun store,” Ricker said. “We’re very family-friendly, we’re for both men and women, we’re even for children ages 10 and up when accompanied with a parent. When people walk in, we want them to feel welcomed, so that’s why we like to have involvement with the community — to get them comfortable and introduce them to what we all offer … This is not your typical gun place where you have to be scared to walk in.”
The center will also be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday for those wanting to get in range time or see what the center has to offer. For additional programming, visit the Midwest Shooting Center’s Facebook page.
To abide by the health department, masks are encouraged for the event as well as social distancing.
