Best of the Region 2020

The Lima News’ 2020 Best of the Region is back, marking 25 years of asking residents of the area their opinions on their favorite places to shop, relax and eat.

We asked for your opinions on 75 categories this year on a wide range of restaurants, stores, service providers, entertainment options and free-time activities. Ballots were available at and in the newspaper itself.

The rules: The businesses or locations needed to be open to the public and be located within a seven-county region — Allen, Auglaize, Hardin, Logan, Mercer, Putnam or Van Wert counties. Voting started May 24 and continued through 5 p.m. June 22.

To celebrate 25 years of the section, a daily quiz has been appearing in The Lima News print and online editions for the month of July. Random winners were selected from those who turned in paper or online ballots. Gift cards were mailed. Nearly 3,000 people participated during the voting period this year.

The final quiz appeared in Saturday’s edition, and the quiz in its entirety is published in this section.
