VAN WERT — The entire family can share a laugh this weekend with comedian Tim Hawkins.
Kylie Owens, marketing director of Niswonger Performing Arts Center, explained that Hawkins is a Christian comedian, so his show is “clean but hilarious” and fit for all ages.
Hawkins uses his own experience in marriage, homeschooling and growing up in the Midwest to guide his comedy bits.
He is also known for the infusion of music in his shows, which includes original pieces “Sounds of Starbucks” and “Snowflake,” as well his parodies on popular songs, “Cletus Take the Reel,” “Pretty Pink Tractor” and “The Government Can.”
Since giving up a job as a grocery store truck driver in 2002, Hawkins has gone on to accrue 362,000 YouTube subscribers, over 650,000 Facebook fans and more than 100 sold-out shows every year.
He has released a number of CDs and DVDs, music videos and currently has a “Poddy Break” podcast, all of which can be found on his website timhawkins.net.
The Niswonger is also offering an “uber fan package” for an additional $25, which will include an exclusive meet and greet with Hawkins, a $10 voucher for merchandise at the show, a concert laminated lanyard and a photo opportunity with Hawkins.
